  1. Was a sea cadet here ’75-’79 and made some great friends. Names which often come to mind are Micky Taylor, Dave Beattie, Mel Fleetham, Sara Dunnet, Derek Cairney. Lost touch with most people when I joined the navy but it was a great place. Building was named Hugill House and I believe (memory allowing) that Mr Hugill was an ex-navy officer.

  2. I was sea cadet here from 1979 till 1985 reaching Cadet Petty Office, then came back as a Petty Office Instructor in 1987 till 1990’s. I have good memories of my time as a sea cadet at Bowesfield Lane.

    • I was in the cadets 82-85 and went on to join the Navy in 91… I had good memories of TS Fortitude, sleeping in that scary buiding was an experience…

  3. This buiding was donated to stockton sea cadets by Maurice Harold Macmillan, 1st Earl of Stockton and also an MP

    • I was in the Marine Cadets from about 1980 to 1984. Friends were Corporal Cook and George Baldwin. I am seeking photo of myself in uniform can anybody help?

  4. During the late 1940s and early 1950s Stockton sea cadets were housed on MTB TS Fortitude, moored on the Tees near to where the Endeavour is berthed now. It was badly damaged in the fifties in high winds when the grain boat moored at the flour mill broke lose and rammed it. Being of wood construction it came off second best and that”s when they moved to Bowesfield Lane. The C.O. at the time was a Mr Hugill ex RN.

  5. Where this building once stood, and the “Rainbow workshops” which you can see next to it are now the planned site for a mosque.
