The boy second left – I think his surname is Ingram or Ingam. The group of girls in the centre with their backs to the camera probably include Kathleen Plummer (now Smith), Judith Turner and Judith Lochren. I’m sure the teacher in the doorway is Burt Race.
On the coach journey to Bamburgh Castle that day I’m sure I can remember a whaling ship been pointed out to us as we crossed the river Tyne.
This photograph was taken on a school trip from Newham Grange School, Stockton to Bamburgh Castle, Northumberland about 1958/59. I am on the extreme left and third from the left is Bill Turnbull. The two teachers are, extreme right Mrs Sproates and next to her is (I think) Mrs Hewitt. Unfortunately all the girls have their backs to the camera – does anyone recognise themselves?
