My mum was called Lorraine Smales she is middle row 2nd in from left,she lived on Leicester Road. other children’s names she remembers are Barry Birtwhissel , Peter Kilding ,Glennis Cantwell
I’m fourth from right, back row. I recognise most, but only a few names come to mind; Robin Lawson, Jeff Parker, Jeff Stevenson, Ian Duncan, John Lund, Dorothy Hope, Cherry Coates, Marian Lee……..that’s it.
Paul Whitfield – could my aunt Ann Sheraton b.1944 be on this photo? Perhaps front row, third from right? She and I were both taught by (old) Mr Thompson.
I started there in 1951 and these would have been some of the ‘Big Boys’ who frightened the life out of me!
I learned to eat a whole packet of Smarties between the gate and the top end of the alley, ‘cos as sure as anything you’d be robbed of any sweets you still had once you reached the yard.
I am in the photo on the third row 4th from the left. Pam Broadbent was in the front row.
