This photo was taken at the back of the Maintenance Dept which later became the new Training Centre.
It was the youngest apprentice job to collect coke for the belly warmers in the workshops. So what we used to do was to put a few milk bottles outside the workshop in a convenient position and when this engine passed by the driver and his mate would throw the coke that it carried to fuel the engine at the milk bottles. It did save a few journeys a week.
