I am looking for any relatives of Thomas and Mary Moore they were my great grandparents, their daughter Elizabeth was my grandmother, she died about 1913. They are listed in the 1881 census. He was an engineer living at 2 Prospect Place, Thornaby on Tees.
Audrey, I will try to get some info for you as I do not think it is my own family line but there are quite a few Malcolms still in Stockton. I do have a George Malcolm b.1864 married to a Mary Stowman b.1867 (marriage 1888)with several children but on the 1901 census, not a David. Nothing on the free B.M.D but some of mine are missing on there as well! Will do some searching.
Marion, I”ve been searching for information on David Malcolm, my step-grandfather, and wonder whether there”s any link with you. His parents were George and Mary Malcolm. He was born around 1887 and emigrated to Australia (where I am living) in 1925. he died here in 1955. I know he had relatives living in Stockton. Hope to hear from you Audrey
Marion : I have a 1914 Thornaby Almanack/Diectory and and it lists Robert Malcolm as residing at No 14 at that time. Tom Thomas
I do not know if this is the same Moore family, in the census for 1881, it gives Thomas Moore aged 50, as an Iron Manufacturer employing 9 men and 5 boys. They lived at 2, Prospect Place Thornaby, together with wife Mary 51, son John 27, daughters Mary 22, Hannah 18, Elizabeth 16, Emma 13, Minnie 10. Has anybody any pictures of Prospect place, is it still there? as my family of 9 “Malcolms” lived at number 12 in 1891.
