I remember Silver street well – me and my dad used to go to Maddox’s every Saturday to get feed for his budgies and rabbits, and next door was the Silver St model shop, I spent many an hour browsing in there. Across the street was the side entrance to Blacketts store.

Maddox”s (sign can be seen as MAD in the picture) was an animal feed and pet shop. They may have had the mouse/rat trap in their window.
That looks like a mark 1 Ford Escort (I could be wrong) parked in the High Street, if so this picture couldn”t be any earlier than 1967.
Was there a shop in Silver Street that had a mouse or rat trap in the window, similar to the children”s game “Mouse Trap”?
