My Grandpa Albert Edward Annakin was in charge of Redmarshall Station in 1923, I remember him taking me up the stairs into the signal box when I was only young, probably around three years of age 1949.
Redmarshall station signalbox taken from the Carlton – Thorpe road bridge looking towards Stillington – the goods train hauled by a Q6 class is working between Ferryhill quarry & Hartlepool magnesite works. Redmarshall at one time had 4 signalboxes but all were closed & demolished in 1967/1968
