This badly weathered cross is often mistaken for Norton”s War Memorial & is usually adorned with poppies and wreaths etc. for Remembrance Day in November. Although this keeps the occasion in public view, there is a war memorial in Norton – in St. Mary”s Churchyard, which might be a more appropriate location for these tokens of remembrance.
