  1. Hi there, really love these photos. I have a big interest in St Paul’s as we are looking at building the story of the Parish. If anyone does have any old photos of the place (and in particular the people) I would really love to see them.

  2. I was a choir boy there during this time. The renovations took place in c1968 and I was there when the church was re-dedicated by the then Bishop of Durham Ian Ramsey. The Vicar at the time was, indeed, Rev Phillip Hutchinson. I attended many Weddings as a member of the choir; so was probably at yours Susan. I was also friendly with Paul Steer.

  3. I was married at St Paul’s in October 1968 and it was modernised then. Reverend Hutchinson was the vicar I think.

  4. I have 12 photographs taken during the refurbishment & re-building of this Church, but there are no dates on the reverse. The photographs were taken by Jack Steer a keen local amateur photographer. I was friends with his son, Paul, from an early age.

    • I am really interested in building the story of St Paul’s, if you still have these, it would be great to take a look.

  5. This photograph of St. Paul’s shows the Church after it was modernised and refurbished, does anyone know when this work was carried out?
