  1. You”re right its an important piece of Stocktons history instead of being intent in knocking down the good old buildings they should be trying to restore and value our history Stockton has a good bygone era we should be rejoicing The last time i was in there was to see Val Lehman * aussie actress* who starred in Prisoner Cell block H 🙂 this place even gets mentioned in Terry Thomas”s biography!

  2. I remember going to the “minors” during the 1950s on Saturday mornings – sometimes it degenerated into rugby scrum – and those films from the Childrens Film Foundation…

  3. I remember queueing with hundreds of kids to see the panto. We were all there courtesy of ICI and we were given a brown paper bag with some fruit and sweets and sometimes 2 bob to buy stuff. Seem to remember Freddie & The Dreamers, Gerry & The Pacemakers, Joe Brown and others all appearing there….

  4. It would be so great to see someone re-open this theatre for stockton, it would be a disgrace to ever see it destroyed. I would love to get a chance to see inside it now.

  5. Blimey! Can you remember those “special specs” you had to wear with different coloured paper in? Seems like a lifetime ago.
