Wondered if anyone could tell me where I could find information on the old Sunday School held in the Brunswick Methodist Sunday School for the years upto the 1930″s
I remember Brunswick Mews, but even the shops in Regency Mews change hands quite frequently. The cafe however is always a pleasure to use, the staff are friendly and it is a really cosy place. The most recent addition is the new craft shop, please use it, you can”t buy a cheerful face on a website.
I wonder how many know that a wonderful speciality shopping mall was built in the court-yard to the rear of this building in the 1970s, with cast-iron work balcony “Victorian “lamps standards and a number of small shops and a cafe, The Regency -Mall in West Row was built at the same time. Commercially “Brunswick Mews” never took off as it was too far from the High Street. While on the subject of Regency Mews , West-Row visit it and note the ornate wood carved “early 1900” shop canopies , the two sets of 5 “Victorian” Lamp cluster and the very colourful sky-lights which throws multi-colours over the floor
Hi Bob I work in this building it is now a recovery centre opened in March. I love the building and features and lamps so much, we still use the cafe, it as been all refurbished. Thanks for the info been searching a while. June Humphreys.
