This rare type of Long Service Certificate was presented to Mr Joseph Kidd of the Supply Department having completed 23 years of service in January 1947. Joe joined The Synthetic and Ammonia Company in 1922. He served in his second world war from 3rd September 1939 until 1942.During that time he was stationed with the(HAA) Unit at Grangetown Sunderland defending Teesside and Wearside from air raid attacks. He retired in 1953 having completed thirty years with the company.
