  1. Hello! I’m looking for information on the late Juliet O’Connor (nee Wood), who attended Grange Grammar School for Girls c1960 where she sat the public examinations of 1960 (ish) in preparation for teacher-training college. I am hoping there might be a class photo that includes Juliet during her time there. I am publishing her book about her childhood in Stockton-on-Tees.

  2. Jean, I am astounded at your memory. Can supply a few surnames. Hilda – Gosling Nancy – Chicken Heather – Goldsmith Susan – Morris Sandra – Martin (me) OK, know it isn”t many but it”s a start!!

  3. Think I can fill in some of the blanks – back row left to right – Wendy, Sandra,Heather, Denise, Maureen, Kathleen, Diane, Nancy Susan, Ann. Middle row – Margaret, Hilda, Marilyn, ?, Sandra,Christine, Elizabeth Taylor, ?, Pamela. Front row – Linda,Marcia, Margaret (again!),vivien, linda, Mr Price, linda, carol, june, ann, jean. Don”t ask me their surnames – have to go lie down in a darkened room now after this effort!

    • Good memory! Think the girl next to Muralyn (not Marilyn) is Catherine Stone. You got me right – first on left front row😊

  4. This is not my year group but I remember a lot of the faces. The teacher was a Welshman named Mr Price and he taught Latin.

  5. Happy memories of Grangefield, though the apartheid rules were very strict! Would Sandy Smith (nee Martin) in Canada care to leave her e-mail address with these nice Picture Stockton people if she would like to correspond with a very old friend (- well, 60 now!) ?

  6. IMAGINE MY SURPRISE WHEN I WENT TO THIS WEBSITE FOR THE FIRST TIME AND THERE IS A PHOTO WITH ME IN IT. TOP ROW, SECOND FROM LEFT, MAIDEN NAME SANDRA MARTIN. MY MEMORY FOR NAMES IS TERRIBLE BUT I DO REMEMBER SUSAN MORRIS, TOP ROW SECOND FROM RIGHT. TEACHER WAS THE LATIN TEACHER I BELIEVE???

  7. I can remember quite a few of the names from the above school photo, unfortunately I don”t seem to be able to put the names to the faces. We really should write names on the back of photos at the time – of course we always thought we would remember everything for ever!!!
