  1. My ancestor Albert Harry Dixon was a preacher at this chapel in the early 1900s. Does anyone know where I can get a list of preachers or even photographs that may have been taken at the time?

  2. My great grandparents were married in this Church 1865, unfortunately when I tried to visit it was – at that time – a carpet warehouse!

  3. I used to go to that church too, my mum used throw the whole family in and disappear for a couple of hours, (there was 7 of us) i actually won an Eisteddford competition while i was there in 1969.

  4. My Gran & Grandad lived at 2 Kingston Street ( Norman & Olive Thompson ) and we lived at #37 Kingston St. Would love to catch up. We visit friends in Manly quite often and have a friend in Fremantle who we hope to visit next year.

  5. Hi George, Dont know if you remember us Marjorie and June Smith of 10 Kingston Street. Saw your name on the web site. Glad to hear you are doing well. Would love to see the window one day on our travels.I live in Perth and June lives in Sydney . We often talk on the phone about all the good times we had growing up in Tilery. Wouldnt change anything. We had a fantastic childhood.

  6. Hi Norm, Yes I have a photo that I will post on the site soon. The window still has pride of place in the house in Morris road Upwey ( outside of Melbourne ) Norman shipped it over to me and only two very small pieces were damaged ( which my wife Lynne & I repaired. To match the rich colours in the window the artist had to fire the glass 17 times, quite an effort, but you cannot tell where the new pieces are. The window was dedicated to Agnes & Amy Therlow dated 1899. I bought it because I used to go to the chapel as a boy occasionally and it was being changed into a Carpet Warehouse ( discraceful for such a beautiful building) and the kids were just throwing stones through the windows. Norman you would be pleased to know that I had lunch this weekend with Sid Foundling. We had a great day out at a Winery in the Yarra Valley outside of Melbourne. He would love to catch up with you and Liz

  7. My mate George Thompson originally from Tilery purchased a window from this chapel in approx 1984 & had me export it for him to Melbourne, somewhere I”ve a picture of it in its new home.

  8. Both streets either side of this former Brunswick Methodist Chapel are presently closed off at the junction with Dovecot Street. Recent high winds have further aggravated serious structual damage to the roof of the building. Not too sure who actually owns this old building or who indeed will have to pay the bill for what will surely be a very costly repair.
