  1. Like Geoff Cowley I left GG in ’66. Remember many names and in fact met John Cameron’s son in Italy at his restaurant. Stay in touch with John’s ex- Odette.

After postgraduate work I worked in the energy sector before ending up as CIO at University of Alberta in Canada. Then farmed in BC and now happily retired with my wife of 53 yrs, 2 children and 3 grandchildren.

  2. Yes, I am 3rd from left on the front row, I am Bill Warrener who resides still in Stockton. The person on the first right on the second row is Keith Reynolds.

  3. I was also in the Science part of the Upper Sixth with John Cameron. I think the one standing behind Mr Stedman is Jonathon Crowther. Otherwise I am afraid age has got the better of me!

    • I remember you well but think at the time you were JD Callender – the reason I remember is that there were three of us with those initials – you, JD Crowther and me, JD Cameron. I think Jonathan went to Dublin University – memorable because unusual

      • This is correct but Steadman was the Arts teacher. None of the JDCs are in the picture as we were all science. I went to Trinity Dublin and switched from maths to philosophy after a term. Both Jonathan McClemont and Mervyn Blades are no longer with us. I went to JM’s funeral and met Blades.

    • Hi Don, l am the guy that bought your lambretta back in 1966. I never forgave John (Goof) Collins for his dodgy dealings in that instance and would once again like to apologise. Funny what stays in the memory. We did attend his funeral a few years ago. He lived near Leicester at the time. Bumped into Paul Frost a few months ago and he reminded me of your name as we reminisced. As you can see, l still have a series 2 Lambretta 😁
      Best wishes
      Al

  4. I was in the Science part of Upper VIth form in 1968. All are familiar faces but the only extra name I can add is Chris Spence at the extreme right of the front row.

  5. For those who may not know, my brother Phil Jackson, died after short battle with leukaemia on 2 September 2001. Greatly missed.

    • Very sad news about Phil. It’s good to see 5 ex Richard Hind faces in the photo. I went to Stockton Grammar for my A levels, but used to see Phil at Loughborough.

  6. From Left to Right; Back Row; Alastair Smith, (Dolly) Whitfield,David Penson,?,Rob Hull,?,? Front Row; ?,Nigel Campbell,?,?,Mr Steadman (Art Master),?,Chris?,Philip Jackson,?

    • I’m in that group somewhere – I think second from the right on the back row.
Nigel Wardle may be first on the right on the back, and I think ‘Ace’ Warriner may be third from left on the front – so long ago.

      • Hi Dave, played a folk set at a recent scout meeting at Norton. In conversation with Phil North and his wife Margaret, your mams name came up along with yours as I was a member of 14th Stockton Cub Pack. I was also in the same class as you at St Johns. I bumped into Alan Spence last month for the first time since junior school.
