  1. Hello my name is Malcolm Watson I am the one middle row far left in front of Ian Dobson.

I live near Sedgefield, nice to see some of the old faces on here.

  2. Denis Buckton was a good swimmer who lived on Durham Road opposite to Appleton Road.
Harold Berry worked in the N.D.T. Department at Teasdale Works, Head Wrightsons. David Lown was a good half-mile runner in the town sports. Terence Green was a Newtown lad from the Bedford Street area.

  3. This looks like my class after I left (or some of them) and in the long bags.
Names I can supply – David James, Keith Caush (pronounced Cosh), and I am pretty sure John Scott Roriston – how could you forget a name like that?
I think Mr Campbell lived at the top of Yarm Road by the branch line but not sure.

  4. Back row left to right: Ian Dobson: ? Waller: Peter Storey: Derek Marley: Alfred Broadbent: Ronald Pike: ? Hebden : ? Smith: ? Dennis: ? Waller: (Me) Richard Grace:
Middle Row : ? Watson: ? Duncan : ? James: Denis Buckton: ? Allison: Robin Green: Harold Berry: ??: ?Carrol:
Front row: Rennie Vicars: Geoffrey Bowman: ? Robson: Terence Green: (Headmaster) Mr Nesbit: (Class Teacher) Mr Campbell: ? Morgan: David Lown): Keith Caush: ? Roriston:

I apologise if I have got any names wrong or christian names I have forgotten or names I have spelt incorrectly. I have put a question mark for names I can’t remember. I am sure that Mr. Campbell originated from the Isle of Skye. He was the school art teacher as well as our class teacher. He also had a son at the school…
