  1. I can remember a shop which was a Post Office and Grocers by the name of Craggs which would be just out of the picture on the right towards the Empire. Probably next door to Calverts Hat Shop. I used to buy Cunzle cakes there. Anyone remember this shop? He was a big friend of Hunter Martin and lived in the same Avenue in Norton.

  3. Notice how the buildings on the High Street (Castlegate) have lost some of their signs, and some are actually boarded, which suggest’s that this is 1969 (year of demolition). Also notice the Yorkshire bank on the extreme left which is always a good bearing landmark.
