These buildings were opposite the Co-op. The carpark you see was used by Co-op shoppers. Probably in your time these shops were Crieries the Butchers and Crieries shoe shop as well as the stone sculpters workshop and yard.
I lived in 99 Wellington St during the years of 1944-1945. I do not seem to to recognize these buildings. Where were they? We lived near the rail tracts No 99. We lived next door to the off-license shop of Miss Strathern. See pictures elsewhere of that location. Wellington Street at that time meant Nellies fish and chip shop and Dick’s little grocery shop at Stanley St. He had serious problems with his voice. High pitched. Anyone remember those days?
