This is where I met my Husband, Bill Charlton. Had been to the Maison De dance and popped in the Garrick with a friend, Rita Small. She also met her husband there, Bob Small. Bob and Bill were mates and still are to this day, all four of us are still married 47 yrs later. Fond memories of both the Maison and the Garrick.
The Garrick Hotel along with the Theatre (Jocker Browns), Metrepole & The Brunswick were the pubs the lads nipped out of the Maison De Dance for a swift half, because the dance hall did not have a licence to sell alcohol.

My mother used to be the cleaning lady at the Garrick, probably in the late fifties.
