Just got back from a girls trip, so thanks Christine and Linda for the correction and apologies to the two Joans!… senior moment!!
Nice to see you in print Christine and hope all is well with you. I have been back in touch with Linda for quite a few years now and also Sheila Smith. I did see Susan Swift again but it was a long time ago. Does anyone see her? I was in touch with Rita Burr through Friends Reunited and found out she lives in New Zealand, but lost touch when we went to live abroad for six years. I believe there was a message on here not so long ago from her… would like to get back in touch if she reads this!
Hello Irene, sorry to be using this forum to contact you but I’ve been researching the King family and we are distantly related. My maiden name is King and my Great Grandfather is an uncle of Alfred William King in your tree on ancestry.com. I’ve sent you a message via ancestry.com but you haven’t seen it. I’d love to compare notes and learn more about the King side of my family. I’m Australian. Somebody please urge Irene to contact me please! Rosemary Giles (Nee King)
That was definately not Joan Penman… we are still good friends, Joan and myself after 60 years plus. Still meet up for coffee and gossip… it is Joan Ward. Are there any others who still keep in touch after all these years like Joan and myself?

Thanks, Robert. Not sure regarding Pauline, but maybe one of my other classmates can answer that.
Correction to prefect names – Front row second from right is Joan Ward.
Pauline had a sister called Allyson and lived opposite Mill Lane Girls’ School in the house on the corner of Dovecot Street and St Bernard Road.
Another great photo, thanks Irene. Did Pauline Downes have a brother Billy and live in Dixon Street?
Back Row; Rita Burr, Pauline Downes.
Front Row; Maureen Huggett, Linda Crowe, Irene King, Joan Penman, Maureen Cornforth
