Hello to all my former classmates at Richard Hind Girls’ School. I have this photograph and it brings back very many happy memories. Hope everyone is as well as I am and the years since 1948 have been what we all hoped they would be.
By the way Miss Stephenson, our domestic science teacher, knew what she was doing when she taught us how to iron our school blouses. Couldn’t begin to count how many shirts I’ve
ironed in the last 60yrs.
Dawn Taylor, F/R 4th left still a close friend of my sister Margaret Bishop(Irwin)photo ref. t10912 5th form A class 1947-48. She obtained a pilots licence and survived a mid air collision while racing in a Battle of Britain race at Middleton St George Airport. Her husband was a member of the ‘Red Arrows’.
Top row L-R: Muriel Guy, Ailsa Tatterton, Vera Wain, Jean Calder, Irene Moss, Vera Readman, Mary Bendall, Irene Mitchison. Bottom row: Jean Wray, Betsy McKean, Jane Outhwaite, Dawn Taylor, Audrey Alexander, June Carroll, Marion Allison, Marjorie Hutchinson, Olive Burt.
