Stockton’s St Paul’s Church Boy Scouts going to camp on the back of one of Devereux trucks to Pateley Bridge, Saturday 30 July, 1955.
My name is Keith James I am 68 years young, went to Newham Grange Secondary Modern School in the 1950’s and worked at Head Wrightson’s Steel Foundry. I joined the Royal Navy in 1961 and served 22 years. I am now retired and live on the south coast in Fareham, Hampshire. My sister Mrs Pamela Bullock nee James still lives in Stockton. With regard to the pictures I am 2nd in the line, the front lad was called Ian ?? and the 7th lad called Camble Claud Bosenquet. The Devereux truck was possibly driven by Mr Devereux himself. I have been in touch with the Devereux Family a few years ago and they showed extreme kindness to me and my wife Margaret.
Photographs courtesy of Keith James.
The group picture..back row, second left is Harry Langton, who lived in Buttermere Road.

Is the third boy in the line Christine Klinkie’s younger brother, the boy behind Garth Flack looks like Brian Fletcher who was later the singer in the Panthers,in January 1964 they turned professional & changed their name to 1234five so they did not get confused with the Liverpool Panthers, they supported Herman’s Hermits,Freddie & The Dreamers,The Merseybeats,Jess Conrad,The Mindbenders & Wee Willie Harris.

Thanks for posting this Keith. I’m Tony Jackson fourth from the front. I also see Brian Shaw and Garth Flack and possibly Barry Weatherall. I remember the trip well, especially the Devereaux removal truck, because I was sick all the next day from diesel fumes.
