  1. I was surprised to come upon this item and was about to comment that I grew up with the grandson of one of those named… then I became aware of who had submitted the pictures. Keith, it’s been half a century, and I’d love to hear from you. What struck me then, and more so now, is that there were so many names on that memorial. Wolviston was a hamlet when we rode our bikes to Scouts; a pub, Berry’s butchery and Duncan Radburn’s grocery shop. In 1914, it had to be minuscule. The loss of a score of young men must have been crippling to that community.
