When we first became the owners of a shop in Tarring street in 1962, we purchased all our cigarettes from Glasbys. Old Mr. Glasby used to come to the shop for the order.

William Robert Glasby died about Dec. 1939. He was born about 1877 in Thirsk and died in Stockton.
The man who came into our shop for cigarette orders was Mr.Glasby, and to me he seemed old. Mind you, I was only 22yrs.
