  1. The two boats moored in the river belong to Stockton sea cadets and are called ASCs.
    These where sailing boats plus pulling (rowing) and was sixteen feet six inches long, the place where they are moored is also the place where the motor boat (cutter) was kept.
    I was in the cadets from 1973 to 1979 and did a lot of boating on the river. I believe the motor cutter sunk in the early 80s and was salvaged by by someone in the motor boat club and is still in use to this day, it has had a cabin built and looks very smart. The officer in charge of teaching all boating when I was in the cadets was Ltcdr Jack Peacock which I an sad to say died a few years ago.
