The corner shop was known as Andrews and he also had a petshop and sunbed hire business in the same block. His cheese and onion pies were beautiful, no potato, just cheese and onion. Funny what you remember from your teen years that was the early 1980’s.
When I was a child, living in Lawson Street, the uppermost photo was a newsagents owned and ran by Mr Cordukes, next door to the original site of the General Post Office. The lower photo was a general dealers shop which was owned and ran by Mr Sambrooks.
