These are licences issued to my great grandfather, Emanuel Groskop of 5 Thistle Green, Stockton in 1890. One licence is an Auctioneer’s licence issued 19th September 1890 the other is a Hawker’s licence issued 18th September 1890.

Perhaps not directly related… I had the pleasure of working with a Jo Groskop on Bridge Road in the early 70’s. I have two memories of him, the first of him being a really really nice man, the second being of his great skill as a joiner. You could literally ask him for anything and he could produce it. A very talented and very nice man.
