  1. Yes there were some original sleepers displayed in front of the hall in Preston Park, but that was some years ago but they may still be there.

    • Sadly no , nothing at all ! The course of the trackbed is now roughly followed by the A135 or the ‘1825 Way’ road from Stockton through to Ingleby Barwick although it does change its name half way . The buildings to the left in the photograph would have been Parkfield Foundry and those to the right are situated in Boathouse Lane with the large square building still in use by a plant hire company .
If you use Street View on Google Earth and position the ‘yellow man’ on the A135 you can almost replicate the same view as seen in the photograph . Not too long ago the original coal staithes and railway sidings survived behind the railway ticket office in Boathouse Lane but I think they have gone too now . It’s the price we pay for progress , allegedly !

      • Not sure if it’s true but I seem to recall a post on this site stating that some of the original sleepers [or the equivalent of] still could be seen somewhere in Preston Park
