A Sunters Bros Ltd vehicle transports a large load from Head Wrightsons possibly to the chemical plant contracting company of Humphreys and Glasgow Ltd…
The fence leading onto the Malleable Works and North Shore Branch Line was intact until about the middle sixties. Then a gap was made to gain quicker access to the river from Portrack. I expect up to that time there was always something going on, on the railway over the bridge, with trucks being shunted and trains being made up. This would have deterred this kind of vandelism, or “fun” as we used to call it.

The steps at the side of the Church Road bridge gave quick access to Barrett Street and Portrack Lane, I’ve climbed them countless number of times.
