The house numbers puzzle me a little. The 1861 to 1891 census’s do not go above number 14 with one exception of a yard, in which my ancestor lived for a while.
This presumably is the almost hidden area between Silver Street and Green Dragon Yard, once known as the ‘Wasps Nest’, adjacent to Calvert Square. The large windows and loft-doorways seem to indicate that there was some form of workshop or small-manufacturing facilities going on within these premises, where daylight would be at a premium
