A view of the Parish Church on Stockton High Street possibly pre 1906
It’s surprising to see how wide the graveyard was, and how many graves were in it. I guess the graves got moved before Church Road was widened?
The people on the pavement are interesting, one leaning against the wall, one sat in the gutter, a child, one looking like he’s stood staring at his feet, and one shuffling past with hands in pockets. They all seem to be in their own worlds, but that might just be my imagination and a blurry picture.
Before the Lady Chapel was built on the right hand side! So when was that built? My parents and grandparents were married there and I was christened there too.
