I have in my possession a promissory note from the Stockton & Cleveland Bank it is for 5 pound and it is identical to the one above except for the date being 1817 instead of 1813. I was given this note from my father and was wondering if it had any monetary value as it is nearly 200 years old. Can anyone help?
You can find the current market value of your note via E-bay where they come up for sale from time to time. Usually they have a corner cut away, as if the signature has been removed. I suspect that an entire note may be more valuable than one that has been cut.
