A view of Stockton Town Hall lit up at night with an image of Queen Elizabeth II projected onto the building. We believe this was to commemorate the Royal Visit in June 1956.

Yes I agree, this is a huge signboard erected upon the south-side of the Town Hall. Whilst the technology for video-imaging projection was not around in the mid-50’s, neither was digital sign-making. Therefore, this temporary celebratory installation represents a very competent and skilled piece of hand painted artwork.

It’s not projected, it is fixed to the building.
