Weddel were a meat supply wholesalers off Norton Road next to Queen Street Surgery, it has been demolished and another Pharmacy built in its place, or I should say it was first a carpet warehouse before becoming the Pharmacy.
The abbatoir was Marks in Laing Street which was behind the pharmacy, as Frank says Weddels were meat suppliers. The surgery is called Queens Park in Farrer Street.
