A classic piece of artwork. The three main features of Stockton that are still in existence are on this vignette, The Parish Church, The Town Hall and The Column.
Was it a sketch from life, or partly based on a photograph? It looks like Stockton as it might have been in about 1820! A pleasure to look at.
