  1. I remember being part of a party that canoed 20 miles down the River Tees and ending at this ship for refreshments. This would have been around 1978.

  2. I can remember some great nights-out on this ‘ahead-of-it’s-time’ entertainment facility and I still see Stewart Greenidge in and around Yarm. But exactly what date was this in operation from and until when? I must be getting to that age where I just cannot remember the finer details!

    • Memory can’t be that bad, if I can remember that the last time I visited the Bonaventure was with a girl called Vivienne Lightfoot from Billingham. I think she worked at the branch of Bradford and BIngley on the High St / Silver St corner (now Santander) and shortly afterward, went off ‘darn sarf’ to be a air-hostess (cabin -crew!) down at Luton Airport. Happy Days!
