I used to be a regular at the Wimpy pub in the 1980s. Anyone remember ‘patto’ and Val Terry the barman? I got the nickname ‘sherlock’ as I smoked a pipe. Happy times – great fun.
Me and my friends used this pub regularly all through the 1970s and early 80s. The ceiling always reminded me of being in a church.
What was this building used for? Could I have been to a wedding reception there in the early 1960’s?
Had my first drink here (won’t say what age I was) my parents and their friends were regulars there.
What a coincidence, my first drink here too, called a ‘wicked lady’ recommended by one of the contributors to this page. Happy days.
