Martins Bank was the only major British bank in those days with a H.Q outside of London, in its case Liverpool. The then Bank of Liverpool took over a very old London bank Martins in 1918 ,hence the name. In 1969 Martins was taken over by Barclay’s.

There was a branch there on Norton Road (most recently Lucinda’s restaurant) but this is the Goldie’s building.
I remember Martin’s bank and yes it is now Goldies Bar
near odeon I was a customer in early 60s shows my age.
Definitely next to the P.O… I remember it well in the 1960’s
