A regular sidekick of Arthur Haynes was the Irish actor Dermot Kelly. I’m pretty sure he appeared in one of the very first plays at the Billingham Forum Theatre. Rumour had it he was a great fan of the casino in the La Ronde nightclub
Prior to this show Arthur was at the ICI fete and sports day which he officially opened . My brother Michael took a photo of myself with Arthur Haynes. When this show was on at the Globe ( later ABC) I gave Arthur a copy of it. That Summer he did the season at The Futurist Theatre in Scarborough, and he wrote me a letter , thanking me for the picture and enclosing one of himself in his tramps outfit . I still have these , Arthur Haynes was a brilliant comedian, loved his sketch as a tramp with his medals on and shouting , “Hoy , I fought for the likes of you, up to my neck in muck and bullets” Lol. Great guy. Thanks for the memory.. Malcolm Trattles.
It was the Arthur Haynes show that gave Nicolas Parsons his first real break on TV.

I notice one of the performers was Alan Randal.I think he was the guy who did George Formby and was brilliant at it.
