Billingham Town Football Club owe a lot to Tommy Donnelly, who formed them as Billingham Social Club in the early seventies & is still involved. The club has seen many professional footballers pass through, the likes of Gary Pallister, Gerry Forrest, Neil Bishop to name a few.
The Town are still going strong albeit in the 2nd division of the Northern League. With the relegation of close neighbours Billingham Synthonia there will once again be derby games to look forward to in the coming season.
In the foreground extreme right you can see the ”Tin Lizzie” bridge where train spotters , like myself’ spent many a happy hour.
