A filtered water fountain which we believe was located in Thornaby Railway Station.
Thornaby railway station did have a fountain like this situated half-way along Platform 1, built into the wall of the railway porters and goods store facing the Darlington to Middlesbrough, Redcar & Saltburn line, I seem to think one of the buttons shown was a screw-head once holding a brass cup chained to it, and the right button was pressed to deliver water, but the water had been switched off ages ago because of children misusing it and pressing it for fun?
