Armistice Celebration in Durham Street, Stockton c1918. The corner shop in the background belongs to Holmes Duffin, grocer.
I have a copy of this photo which says that the lady standing on the back of the lorry was Mable Henderson and it was the 1919 peace celebrations.
If this is the shop at 42 Durham Street, Stockton, it was occupied for many years pre- and post- World War Two (until the early 1960’s) by Frederick and Frances Tatterton, grocers and general dealers, relatives of mine. This generation of local Tattertons were brought up in Wilkinsons Yard behind Norton High Street, opposite the Unicorn Pub. Their father George was from Elvington, Yorks.
June Tatterton went to school with me at the Frederick Nattrass. I knew she lived in Stockton but never could understand why she went to that school. It was 1942-49.

This shop was on the corner of Corporation Street and Durham Street, which both still exist to a certain degree, but the whole side of Corporation Street where this shop was has been redeveloped. (Streetview location: https://goo.gl/maps/G6xryV84acz)

I think it looks more like the shop on the corner of Bedford Street/Mellor Street?
Could this be corner of Londonderry Road, later the post office?
