  1. My grandparents lived in the Friarage Lodge, from the late 40’s until around mid 70’s. The Friarage grounds were my playground, whenever I stayed with them.

  2. I remember also winters here in the late 1950s when I was going out with a girl called Jean from Turton Road in Willey Flats. Really Cold but nice.

  3. ICI’s Supply Department was evacuated to The Friarage during WWII, my oldest sister amongst the personnel commuting there instead of Billingham.
