  1. Wow, a blast from the past. Yes, this is Mill Lane Boy’s and I am the goalkeeper, back row fourth from left next to Jimmy Trotter. I still have a copy of this photograph in one of my albums. Is Billy Gunn the guy next to me, perhaps? Jimmy Beall and David Geldart, I certainly remember you two! Good to know you are both alive and kicking lol. I was in Stockton a few weeks ago with my son and had a pint in The North Eastern Hotel where I used to live. If you still live in the area then perhaps we can have a pint next time I’m up there. Take care.

    • Peter.
Billy Gunn on front row, far right. This was a blast from the past for me too. I didn’t have a copy of this photo, so really pleased to see it turn up – all the more so as I live in Australia now

      • Hi David, good to hear from you. Ironically it was an old pal of mine from my days of living in Fairfield between the ages of 9 and 11 and who moved to Australia in the early ’70’s to play professional football who discovered this post and highlighted it to me, having recognised me in the photo. Hope you have and still are enjoying your life in Australia. Best regards, Peter

          • Hi Stuart, I certainly recognise and remember your dad from this photo and I’m so sorry to hear that he has passed on and at quite a young age, as well. His memory lives on! Take care and my very best wishes to you and your family, regards Peter

    • The guy next to me standing in the back row second from the right must be Keith Savage. He and I spent a lot of time together as kids but I could never get over the fact that after the Munich air crash he became a Manchester United supporter. I wonder if he still is!

When I first saw the photograph I thought you may have been David Geldart but I was not 100% sure
I recognised the shirts at first I used to wear one
      Best regards

    • Hi David & Jimmy, I trust you have kept well after all these years, about 60 since this photo was taken. How time flies! Are you both still living in the Stockton area? The family moved to Harpenden in Hertfordshire in 1960 and now I live in Stroud Gloucestershire enjoying retirement. Love to hear from you both. Contact Picture Stockton – pictures@stockton.gov.uk and they’ll forward on my email address. Best regards, Pete

      • Hi yes that is Billy Walton front row 2nd right! My Dad in fact, sadly though my Dad passed away in 2008. It’s really pleasing to know some people can still recognise him from these earlier years. Might anybody have any more photo’s?

        Kind regards

  3. Definitely not Bailey Street, but Mill Lane Boys’. Front row second from left is Philip Booth, Centre with ball is either David or Keith Wren and back row far right is Alan Laverick. Other faces are familiar but cannot remember their names.

    • Not surprised to see Keith Wren was captain as he was always a sergeant major type character when he played Saturday local league football and a really nice guy also.

    • Great to see a photo of Mill Lane school boys. Do remember Keith Wren and Billy Gunn? Again other faces look familiar but cannot name. Do hope that maybe more people see it and put names to faces.
