In my first year my room was directly oner the portico. The windows were only half height from the floor, so I had to bend down to see the driveway. They were probably the servants rooms, as if you continues along the corridor outside our rooms you came to an entrance taking you left into the area occupied by the young Marquess of Londonderry. He used to turn up periodically driving a Karmann Ghia, accompanied always by a young lady.
I was there 1958 – 60, and the Miss Gunson mentioned in one of the letters was there when I was. I think she taught the History, theory and Practice of Education. She appeared to us to be over 70 years old, but who knows!
It may have closed a year or so after I left. It was a great place to be- I enjoyed it very much.
I was at the time Ann Davies, and my friends were Judy Roberts, Jean Applegarth.

I telephone a lady who is 101 years of age, and she went to Wynyard Teacher Training College as a young woman.
