  1. I have been collecting postcards like these of Stockton and I now have a couple of hundred in my albums. They are mostly early 1900s and it was the easiest way for people to communicate back then. I prefer them written on as some of the messages on the back make interesting reading. I am amazed by the simple addresses they wrote on the cards and they obviously still got there. For example— Mr.J.sanders, Greenvale cottage, Thirsk.– or Mr H. Smith, Yarm. no postcodes etc then.
