  1. As a child (1952 – 1960’s) I used to stay here on the farm, worked by my two uncles Willie and John Moore and my grandmother, for my summer holidays usually about five or six weeks. The best days of my life trailing behind my Uncle Willie and trying to be useful.

    • Hello both,

I think John Moore may have been related to my paternal great-grandmother Marjorie “Bunty” Frank (née Moore) – her father was Ralph Moore I believe.

I’m not sure what relation that makes me to you both, but it’s cool to find these connections on the Internet!

      Best regards,

      Phoebe Frank

      • I knew Bunty Frank as a child and until we moved away from Sober Hall when Ingleby Berwick was being developed. I had no idea she was a Moore!

My paternal grandfather was William Wallace Moore, perhaps Ralph’s brother?

I remember Bunty as a lovely lady. Is she still alive?

        • Hi Joan,

That’s lovely to hear that you knew her, and yes, she was a Moore!

Sadly I only have very vague memories of her, as she died when I was only about 7 in 2010. All were happy memories, though!

I’m not sure about the relation to William, I will ask my paternal grandfather Geoff Frank about that!

          Thank you for messaging back.

          All the best,

          Phoebe Frank
