Davys had taken over Head Wrightsons when this contract was being done.
All the welds in the inside of these legs had to be grinded & polished to prevent barnacles forming.
When HW started making these “legs” for the drilling platforms, the photographic dept in R&D (as part of the contract) , was given the job to provide photo visual evidence of the progress.
