A friend and I went to explore the Old Coatham Bridge a few weeks ago. There was obvious signs that someone was rough sleeping down there. I remember riding a bicycle and later motorcycle and car across that bridge many times back in the 1960’s and later.

If you look carefully you might still see the old stonemasons mark.

Linda – It is about 240 meters south of the A66 on the road from Elton Interchange down to Yarm, commonly known as Durham Lane. It was bye passed many years ago and is now hidden amongst the trees and undergrowth. Trust that helps
