Lived in Mandale Road as a child during the war used the clock regular to check on the time as no one had watches. Gathered at the Five Lamps New Years eve sang carols before letting in the New Year and then go first footing till about 3 or 4 in the morning one afternoon a large red car a Cadillac with a Golden Eagle on top stopped when I was checking the time, the occupants gave me a bundle of the new EAGLE Comic give these to your pals, and who could not forget Saturday morning pictures at the Queens Cinema
